REBEL CAT COLLECTIVE PRESENTS: 4TH ANARCHIST / RADICAL BOOKFAIR 2021 @ 1 IN 12 CLUB / BRADFORD [4/9/21]

After over a year’s absence and closure the 1 in 12 Club is planning its reopening soon! We are pleased to announce (subject to local lockdowns) that the 4th annual Anarchist and Radical bookfair will go ahead on the 4th September 2021. All proceed go towards the 1 in 12 Club!This year we will have a reduced number of stalls due to social distancing and they will be open between 11.00 and 4.00pm with a planned talk by Michael O’Brian about his book and time in a call centre and our usual mix of poetry/performance art as well. We will also be showing some films on Myanmar and holding a bucket collection for Food Not Bombs – Myanmar.This will be followed by an evening of Anarchist Games hosted by Tatty Hoggarth between 5pm and 7,15pm and finally to wrap the evening off we will have a DJ Request Show with snacks and chat with more informal games (bring along what you want to play)! So, come along, learn, buy, engage, chat, network, meet and play!

Talks/Poets/Films – All subject to change:
12.30pm to 1.30pm – Confessions of a Car Breakdown Call Centre – Michael O’Brien. Michael will be doing a shot talk about his book and experiences working in a call centre.
1.40pm to 2.40pm – Film My Buddha is Punk (Following the Rebel Riot punk band from Myanmar) – There will be a donation bucket for Food Not Bombs Myanmar throughout the bookfair
2.50pm – 4.10pm Poetry and Performance Art:
2.50 to 3.00 – Andy Carrington Yorkshire-based Punk-Poet doing-it-himself (since 2002).
3.05 to 3.15 – KLM (Keiron Lee Higgins – poet and social commentator.
3.20 to 3.40 – Microphone Jack stand-up performance-poet who combines cutting dry dark humour with social commentary.
3.45 to 3.55 – Tatty Hoggarth Bradford’s and the Club’s very own political poet.
4.00pm to 4.10pm – Husker Durruti anarchist punk poet.

Find a book of Husker and Luke’s poetry (Rebel Rose Poetry) at the ACG stall.

Games Evening followed by DJ request show: 4.30pm to 9.00pm in the Café/Library.
